I Love the Bible!, G.L.

I began going to church with my family when I was in third grade. Since then, I have had several, at least three, Bibles given to me as a gift. I even went to a bookstore to buy myself a copy of the Bible with the resolution that I would read it from page to page and cover to cover, within a year. As a result, there were many copies of the Holy Bible at my home, on the bookshelf and the night table. Unfortunately, I have never made it through the book of Exodus.

One of the reasons that caused me to come to the Full Time Training in Anaheim is that I wanted to know and be familiar with the word of God. I want to read the Bible once from beginning to end. I have finished reading through the New Testament at least twice now, and I am still working on the Old Testament.

Here is how the Full-Time Training has helped me to acquire a taste for God's word. After being in the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA) for almost three months, I still had not cultivated the habit of reading the Bible daily. I was amazed and yet puzzled why everyone around me was always reading, always had a book or Bible in his/her hand. On one Monday, the Lord asked me about a pocket size New Testament Bible. I was so excited because now I can bring it with me wherever I go, and I can read the Bible. Nevertheless, I kept putting off buying a Bible thinking that I will fail again. But the Lord still did not give up. The prompting within me was so great that I had to get a copy of the Bible. The Thursday of the same week, I got it! For the first time in my life I was so happy about a Bible. I almost jumped. My heart leaped. I ran to my friends and showed them my new Bible. I just could not contain myself.

The FTTA has really helped me to have a taste of the sweetness and riches of God's word. My appetite has been whet so much that I am reading the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee with much enthusiasm. I do not want just more knowledge of truth, but surely God's word is good for food! (1 Peter 2:3)
